The Arrival of the First Fleet – A Legacy Begins
In the early dawn of January 26, 1788, eleven ships of the First Fleet arrived at the shores of Botany Bay, marking the beginning of European settlement in Australia. This historic voyage, commissioned by the British Crown, carried convicts, sailors, and settlers on a treacherous journey across the seas in search of a new frontier.
